Title: Chlorine wad Game: Doom 2
Filename: CHLORINE.ZIP Size: 90k
Author: Doug Ryerson e-mail:

Maps: MAP01 Type: normal level
Sounds: no
Graphics: yes, 2 signs
Music: no
[ Level construction ] ----------------------------------------------
A medium to large level with a lot of small hallways, rooms, doors
and an outside area. Well constructed, many interconnections, a few
nice traps and a nukage-sewer-area. Very well thought through, but
the key-placement isn't the best. You need only one key to solve the
level and another one to kill all monsters. The author added a
unique thing to his level: a switch to reveal secrets. Yeah, it's a
nice idea I think. If you find the level too hard you can push that
switch and this will make it much easier to find some secrets. At
the end you have to cross a very tricky teleporter-field, watch out
for hints and secrets... otherwise this will be very annoying.
[ Texture design ] --------------------------------------------------
Nice texture-placement, but many textures are misaligned. Most
teleporters don't look like teleporters (there are only a few to get
you out of some places) - no, one is done right. Overall the
alignment could be much better.
[ Bugs ] ------------------------------------------------------------
No HOMs and Medusa effects. I noticed some Tutti-Frutties at
stairs. Ugly.
[ Enemies ] ---------------------------------------------------------
Very challenging, due to a lot of monsters of any kind. Very well
placed and overall not too hard.
[ Things ] ----------------------------------------------------------
Sometimes too few ammo, but enough health. Well placed other
things.
[ Scoring ] ---------------------------------------------------------
78%
Worth downloading. The misalignments are unnecessary.
